Arles is a city in southern France on the Rhône River. Van Gogh painted there, which influenced contemporary art displayed at the Fondation Vincent Van Gogh. In addition to being a Roman provincial capital, Arles is known for its amphitheater (les Arènes d'Arles), where plays, concerts and bullfights are held.
