Moonrise at the Hotel del Coronado”

Description

A golden California sunset washes over the iconic Hotel del Coronado, its red-topped Victorian turrets glowing warmly against the sky. The rising moon adds a poetic touch, balancing the scene as soft light drapes the historic beachfront landmark. Captured from the sands of Coronado Beach, this image celebrates timeless architecture, coastal serenity, and the magic of evening light.

In Coronado, California, there is the Hotel del Coronado which is a historic beachfront hotel situated across the bay from San Diego, just across the San Diego Bay from the city. In 1970, the wooden Victorian beach resort was designated a California Historical Landmark, and in 1977, it was designated a National Historic Landmark, making it a rare surviving example of an American architectural genre - the wooden Victorian beach resort. This is the second largest wooden structure in the United States, after the Statue of Liberty.
